Maria lives in Nuuk, Greenland.

Maria earned a Bachelor in Fine Arts from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) University in Halifax, Canada. 

She also studied at Cooper Union School of Art in New York.

Focus: painting, drawing, film, video, photography and fashion.

After an ISCP residency in New York, Maria returned to Greenland.

Maria also studied social science at the University of Greenland.

Maria has worked with scenography, made stamps and seals, as well as illustrations for educational books. 

Maria has exhibited in Greenland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, France and Canada in both solo shows and group shows.
